Description

Our USB Multi 2x is designed specifically for the field of dual use. Often it is the case that certain hardware is used at 2 system and you want to save costs, time and money by Perepherie (USB mouse, USB keyboard, USB scanner, USB printers, external hard drives, etc.) not double procures or permanently must reposition. With the USB Multi 2x you have the option to assign certain devices to one or the other device. This also saves a lot of space on the desk.

In the x-Version it is possible to disconnect both USB-ports, so that there is no connection of any USB device controlled via USB Multi 2x.

Some complex USB device sometimes crashes inside. Often the only way to get them work again is to disconnect them physically from the PC. Using the USB Multi 2x, this could be done by software control.

It occasionally happens that USB devices are not compatible with each other and it leads to device conflicts. By using our USB Multi 2x you can solve the problem by turning on either one or the other USB device.

The size of the switch is about 40 x 90 x 23 mm. Left and right there are one USB socket type A and one USB socket B were located. On top of the device are one green and one red LED to display the status of the USB Multi 2x.

The USB-Multi 2 should be operated in inner rooms only and should be protected against humidity. The permissible operating temperature range is 10° - 80° Celsius.

About 32 switches may be connected to a PC using several HUBs. The HUBs used must use a separate power supply. When using Cleware USB devices it is not neccessary to install device drivers. The standard USB drivers are sufficient. So the system stability will not be harmed.

The USB-Multi 2 will be delivered with the software ClewareControl for displaying and switching. For easy access a very simple graphical program called USBswitch controls the switch just by clicking on icons. And for integration in batch programs, a command line tool USBswitchCMD is available. The software is running with Windows® 98, Windows® 98 SE, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000, Windows® XP and Windows® .NET. (® Microsoft Windows is a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation).

For easy access a very simple graphical program also comes with the device. The program USBswitch controls the switch just by clicking on icons. And for integration in batch programs, a command line tool USBswitchCMD is available.

An application program interface (API) to drive the USB-Cutter from customer programs is part of the delivery. The API bundles some very simple functions for opening and reading the device. The complex USB device handling is hided.

Linux support is also available. An application program interface (API) and a simple example for turning an USB-Multi 2x is supplied.

Please note:
PC programs may fail or may be interfeared through other programs. Don't connect devices to the USB Multi 2x that may cause harm if the switch turns on unexpected!
